Meet the Owner

Amanda Lecanu
Owner & Licensed Bail Bond Agent

I'm Amanda Lecanu, the owner and licensed bail bond agent behind Baddies Bail Bonds. I've been in the bail bonds industry since 2020, and in that time I've helped families through hundreds of the hardest phone calls of their lives. I know how the jails on the Treasure Coast work, how the courts run, and exactly what it takes to get someone home fast.

I started Baddies because I believe getting a loved one out of jail shouldn't feel like a second punishment. As a local, woman-owned business, we do things differently: no judgment, no runaround, and no confusing fine print. When you call, you talk to me. I'll tell you straight what the bond will cost, what your options are, and what happens next — then I handle the rest.

My promise is simple. I treat every client with the same respect I'd want for my own family, I explain each step in plain English, and I stay by your side from the first call through the final court date. When your family needs help, you'll be working directly with someone who has the experience and genuinely cares.

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers about bail bonds in Florida. Don't see your question? Call us — we're happy to explain.

How much does a bail bond cost in Florida?

Florida law sets the bail bond premium at 10% of the total bail amount, with a $100 minimum. For example, if bail is set at $5,000, the premium is $500. That rate is the same at every licensed agency in the state, so what sets us apart is speed, service, and payment plans that fit your situation.

Is the premium refundable?

No. The premium is the fee for posting the bond and is non-refundable regardless of how the case turns out. It is regulated by the State of Florida.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. We offer flexible, affordable payment plans on the premium so you can get your loved one home today and pay the balance over time. Call us and we'll go over the options together.

How long does it take to get someone released?

It depends on the jail and how busy they are, but most Treasure Coast facilities release defendants within 2 to 8 hours after the bond is posted. We start the moment you call to keep the wait as short as possible.

What information do I need to get started?

The defendant's full name and date of birth, the jail where they're being held, and the bond amount and charges if you know them. If you're missing any of that, we can look it up for you.

What is a co-signer (indemnitor) responsible for?

The co-signer guarantees the defendant will appear at every court date. If the defendant fails to appear, the co-signer can become responsible for the full bail amount and any recovery costs. We explain this clearly before anyone signs.

Do I need collateral?

Many bonds require no collateral at all. For larger bonds, collateral such as a vehicle title or property may be needed. Every case is different, so call us and we'll tell you exactly what applies to your situation.

What happens if the defendant misses a court date?

The judge can issue a warrant and begin forfeiting the bond. If that happens, call us right away — a missed date can often be resolved quickly if we act fast. We also help keep clients on top of their court schedule so it doesn't happen in the first place.

What's the difference between a cash bond and a surety bond?

A cash bond means paying the full bail amount to the court, which is returned when the case ends. A surety bond is posted by a licensed bail bond agent for a non-refundable 10% premium, so you don't have to come up with the full amount.

Do you serve jails outside of St. Lucie County?

Yes. We're based in Fort Pierce and primarily serve St. Lucie, Martin, Indian River, and Okeechobee counties, but we're licensed statewide and will post a bond at any jail in Florida.
